Artist Statement

Nan Foker is an artist in mixed media collage. She has been painting for about ten years and specializes in Gospel Art themes. Nan has had Art Galleries at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in 2017 and 2019. She also displays at her home church in the Creative Call Gallery twice a year, as well as juried shows through North Suburban Center for the Arts and Hopkins Center for the Arts, where she won an "Award of Excellence" for her piece "Leaves of Healing Light" in March of 2023. With her art, Nan seeks to convey Biblical themes with color, texture, and image. She seeks to express joy, whimsy, and blessing for the viewer as well as the deeper resonance of spiritual meaning. "When we acknowledge the Voice of God calling us as creative souls to art, we recognize that our truest soul is free to be His work of art through faith in Jesus Christ. It is his calling to Believers to see the creativity He has made all around us in people and in nature."  The title of this Art Gallery is "God's Call to Faith."  is Nan's hope that this art leads you to glorify God for His goodness to us.
