Our Eternal God, June 6 Worship

God is eternal, and that forms the foundation of our faith and hope. With every hard or difficult thing we face, God is with us. Seeing that God has come to us in His eternal nature, in all the compassion and love of Jesus, is reason for trust. God has eternally and victoriously triumphed. We have eternal reasons to celebrate our God every day and forever.

The Living Spirit of God, May 23 Worship

The Holy Spirit is the living spirit of God among us now. On Pentecost, after Jesus' resurrection, the Spirit was given to the apostles and then, through them by Baptism, to 3,000 people. Today we remember that day and thank God for the gift of the Spirit, who brings the life-giving eternal things of God into our lives.

In the Light of Jesus' Resurrection, April 18 Worship

Jesus’ Resurrection is the most significant event in all of history. It took some getting used to for His first disciples. They had to ask questions and begin to think in new ways about the world and their own lives. Still today we are always trying to catch up to what God is doing. Jesus is alive! We have the privilege of exploring the eternity of what it means to be living in the light of Jesus’ Resurrection.

Seeing Jesus Alive! The Second Week of Easter April 11

Thomas had missed seeing Jesus risen from the grave alive. Thomas could see Jesus in a way through the new emotions expressed by those who had seen Jesus. The excitement, the hope, the resurgence of life they felt was a powerful testimony to the Resurrected Jesus. Someday we will see Jesus for ourselves. Until then His living Spirit gives us vision through those who saw Jesus in His Resurrection Glory.

Christ is risen! Jesus didn’t keep His resurrection a secret. He appeared to Mary, to Peter and the apostles, to His brother James, to more than five hundred people, to the disciples on the road to Emmaus, and lastly to the apostle Paul. Jesus had said that he would rise from the dead. But still, what a surprise and amazing joy when it actually happened. Today we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. We celebrate with those who saw Jesus alive again and wanted to tell everyone. Perhaps the most important question on this Easter day is what will you say about this Jesus who rose from His grave alive?
