WORSHIP
A Mighty Fortress is Our God, October 31 Worship
The Reformation is a celebration of Jesus Christ. Five hundred years ago Martin Luther found hidden light in the Word of God. He found a real reason to hope in Jesus Christ alone. Even though we all sin and fall short of the glory of God, we are welcomed into the sanctuary and refuge of God’s grace and love in Jesus. God is good!
Jesus Gives Sight, October 24 Worship
There is a mystery at the center of everything, and God gives us the sight to see it. Like the blind man that Jesus heals, when the eyes of our spirit open we see Jesus. The great secret is revealed: Jesus is Lord of heaven and earth.
All Things are Possible for God, October 17 Worship
Jesus points out that living in a broken world we will often use the word “never.” By our own strength many things we can imagine are not possible. But Jesus says, “All things are possible with God.” This means we can live in hope. With God the possibilities are infinite and eternal. What does that mean in your life?
God, Our Eternal Treasure, October 10 Worship
Jesus is confident that God is our eternal treasure. But He sees that we grasp for the enticing things of the world first. It can be a challenge to see past all that is ultimately empty and take to heart that God’s goodness and love is our eternal treasure. We celebrate the reality of Jesus who is the saving Christ, the living God, who is our eternal treasure.
Jesus, The Author of Our Salvation, October 3rd Worship
To bring humanity back to Him, God sent His Son Jesus to live a completely human life, even to the point of enduring temptation, suffering, and death. He victoriously shared our mortal life so that we might share His eternal life. Jesus is the author of a new story that unfolds in our lives as children of God, saved, delivered, preserved by Him forever.
God Seasons Us With Blessings, September 26 Worship
We find our purpose and meaning in life by knowing Christ Jesus. Today, we pray in thanksgiving for the amazing gifts Jesus gives us, and we pray that we may be seasoned with the salt of His grace and favor.
God Cares for His Family, September 19 Worship
God cares for us His family. Jesus wants all of us to feel as cared for as a nurtured child. In our lesson from Proverbs we are given the image of a woman and her family who are thriving because they have noble character built by the grace of God. The Apostle James challenges us to be humble before our God. In this way we will be richly blessed and can live noble lives in the family of our great God and Father.
Good Words From God. Worship: September 12, 2021
O, the power of words. From the mouth of Jesus words change lives in dramatic ways. Despite our best efforts our words can fall short of what we hoped for. We can pray for the Holy Spirit to guide us to good words that encourage and create a good spirit within and around us. By getting to know the character and personality of Jesus our words will be guided by the Eternal Word of God, forever good and righteous.
God Makes All Things New, September 5th Worship
God tells the prophet Isaiah, “say to those with fearful hearts, ‘be strong, do not fear; your God will come to save you.” In our Gospel lesson we see Jesus fulfill Isaiah’s promises. He “opened the eyes of the blind, and unstopped the ears of the deaf and the mute tongue shouts for joy.” In many and eternal ways we are made new in Christ. The past can be left behind and we can celebrate the new things of God.
The Armor of God's Victory, August 29 Worship
Paul tells us that God wants to put us in a full suit of armor. Should we be worried and ask why are we going to need armor? Perhaps the warfare we are preparing for is to fight for the honor of our King. Are you ready? Well of course not. Thanks be to God that He himself stands already triumphant on the battlefield. We know the victory is His. Jesus is our victory in everything and in every way.
